Holy Week, also known as Semana Santa, is a significant religious observance for Christians around the world. It is the week leading up to Easter Sunday and commemorates the final days of Jesus Christ's life, his crucifixion, death, and resurrection. It begins with Palm Sunday, which marks Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
On this day, many Christians attend church services and receive blessed palm leaves, which are often used to make crosses. Throughout the week, churches hold various ceremonies and processions that retell the story of Jesus' passion.
During Holy Week, people from other places travel to see the different tourists destinations of each places. Some filipinos do church visits with their friends or families while the others just stayed at their home. There are also some of the things that you can’t do during holy week. People are not allowed to make loud noises and to eat any kind of meat. It is intended as a form of penance and a way for Christians to honor Jesus' sacrifice of his flesh on Good Friday.
In conclusion, Holy Week is a meaningful and reflective time for Christians around the world, and it provides an opportunity for spiritual growth and renewal.
